Waterfalls and Lakes

Seljalandsfoss waterfall is in the south of Iceland and is easily accessible from all sides. It is right by the main road and there is a short walking path going all around it, accessible for every fitness level. It is breathtakingly beautiful to watch a waterfall standing right behind it!

Spectacular Reef Beach

Belonging to the many attractions of Iceland’s South Coast is Reynisfjara, a black pebble beach that rests by the coastal village Vík í Mýrdal. Readily available from the ring road, the beach draws flocks of visitors daily, who come to admire everything from the North Atlantic puffins that nest on the cliffs of Mt. Reynisfjall, to the dramatic sea stacks Reynisdrangar that rest just offshore.

Mountains

This perfectly cone-shaped mountain can be found on the Snæfellsnes peninsula, very close to Snæfellsjökull and is the picture perfect backdrop for your ideal photo. It’s on the northern side of the peninsula, by road number 54 and is found just outside the small town of Grundarfjörður, about a 2,5 hour drive from Reykjavík.

The Northern Light

The Northern Lights are the visible result of solar particles entering the earth’s magnetic field and ionizing high in the atmosphere. Their intensity depends on the activity of the sun and the acceleration speed of these particles.They appear as dancing lights high in the sky and vary in color. The lights usually appear green, but occasionally also purple, red, pink, orange, and blue.Their colors depend on the elements being ionized.
